A few weeks back I was browsing the shelves at Archambault and came upon a Star Trek Manga created by the infamous Tokyopop. I had seen the other two installments before, but was wary on purchasing them; however, I thumbed through this one and was in such a state afterwards that I simply had to purchase it! The Manga is divided into five stories (the last being a novella type story with no artwork).
Here are some pictures from the second story called "Bandi"! If I'm told I have to take these pictures down I will; I just think they are great!

Really, Bandi-Bear was the main reason I purchased it. The art in the second story makes me smile! I think it is from the juxstaposition of detailed characters standing with this simplistic looking Bandi-Bear. The story is funny, but the art adds to it ten-fold and, at times, even made me laugh out loud.

And of course Kirk is pissed to see Bandi-bear lounging in his chair! That rascally Bandi-Bear! It just gets everywhere!

And I mean EVERYWHERE. :P
If you can't read it (which is understandable because my scanner was out-of-order and I had to use a camera to take these pictures) he is screaming, "SECURITY!". I love the innocent look on the bears face XD
Really, I'm not much of a manga fan. I have really only ever enjoyed FLCL and... no, actually, just FLCL. I was a bit of a Hellsing nut for a while, but that didn't last too long. I think I like the Star Trek manga though because I simple LOVE Star Trek... in case anyone viewing this page hadn't figured that out yet. :)
Hope you guy's like the pics!
ttyl!

I have heard talk about this over on the cosforums (if you have not been to those forums you should definitely check it out. A lot going on all the time with a large number of friendly people :) ) and, as much as I doubt it will ever be made, I have been very enthusiastic about it. A lot of people think it could turn out ridiculous (which it just might) but... well, I'll post a copy of what I wrote there:

Honestly, I would love them to do it just for the sake of DOING it. Just to give it a go and see what happened and what sort of a product came out of it. Even if it wasn't great I think it would be a shame NOT to give it a try. Who knows, it could be terrible, but it could be amazing; there is no way of telling unless they give it a go. :P
(I just had a weird image of Snape performing Thriller in my head
)
Like what one poster said earlier about Petunia and Vernon singing and ordering Harry about the house! I can see it so beautifully! Or a little Harry who has just been thrown into his cupboard starts to sing a sad little song only to be interrupted by his Uncle and thrown out to start more chores. He he he!!! I keep hearing "Castle on a Cloud".
There is also the part where Harry is on that island singing "Happy Birthday" to Himself, which could be transformed into a whole song with a sort of Happy Birthday theme but with little additions by Harry!
lol, I'm getting way too excited right now!

and, 2) "Re: Harry Potter the Musical? Watch it or Not?
I have never seen High School Musical. It seemed... frightening. It wasn't on my list of films to watch, but I should probably see it even if I don't end up liking it. You never know, I might find a gem in there somewhere :P
You are right about the whole DH thing. Once it's out this is over unless people keep trying to do something new and unique with it.
I think the great part about song is that you can add (probably more) detail than in just a straightforward movie. Because in a song you can sing something that normally wouldn't be said out loud. A good example would be when Harry saw Prof. Snape's memories of James. In the movie his feelings about his little expedition into SWM are completely shoved aside and are not even questioned, but in the book (if I recall correctly) Harry was suddenly confused and ceased to idolize his father. I think he even compares his father to Dudley(?) (correct me if I'm wrong I haven't read the book in some time)
So, in a musical, you could mention these character developments without having to SHOW something all the time which is of course the problem (I think) with a lot of the movies. Emotion sometimes seems to get glossed over in the films and this is sort of an interesting way to liberate those thoughts and feelings.
Though, I think it would take someone with a lot of love for the books to get it right and someone who has a firm grasp on the difference between lovely and cheesy.
(And someone who can give Prof. McGonagall a Scottish jig part :P jk!)"
This is all what I think of the idea :D
I get ridiculously excited about the strangest of things!
and now, a random picture from "A Piece of the Action" of Kirk and Spock:

They chose a good suit for Spock, but Kirk's hat looks all... fuzzy. It makes me laugh! If you notice, at the beginning of the episode, the guys who get hit by the drive-by are wearing the same suits. :)(I just had a weird image of Snape performing Thriller in my head

| Youre right we wont know till someone tries... Heck as far as we know it could be like High School musical and as many dont like it it was a financial success... Much to the chagrin of those that dont like it... In my view after DH we all dont have much to look forward to anymore so if someone came to do a HP ala high school musical its better that nothing right... They just have to make it accurate to make sure us old time fans stay fans. |

Found this on Youtube last night:

I wonder whatever happened to her...
This commercial was made in 1969 and... I don't know who that weird captain guy is :P

I was watching some classic Trek a few days back and couldn't get over Yeoman Tamura from the episode "A Taste of Armageddon". Though she never appears again, I kind of wish she had.

Here, Yeoman Tamura and Mr. Scott overhear Ambassador Fox trash talking Kirk and informing him that he, as an Ambassador, can overrule Kirk's decision.

The Ambassador leaves and Spock puts on his "What a douche-bag" look.
When the away team is assembled Yeoman Tamura is one of the crewman that goes down to the surface. She sticks to Spock whenever she can and it's pretty cute :)
All of this makes me want to write some fanficton, but, honestly, I don't know what I would write. When the bug doesn't hit it's best I not write anything as it generally ends up not worth reading :(
The screen-caps I took were sort of hard to get for me because my computer wasn't cooperating with the programs I was using.
Hope you guy's like the pictures!
Take care!
